This is not a brand that does things by halves, their entire collection of denim and cotton twill; unisex pants are made from organic cotton.

The full collection includes super skinny chino’s and carrot tops (how the Italians refer to low crotch styles), in a wide range of neutrals, pastels and brights; and include a full range of fits, cuts, washes and finishes, in a down-to-earth, democratic package.

Appena pochi giorni fa ho fatto un post su questo neo brand italiano che in soli sei mesi di vita sta avendo ottimi risultati sul mercato denim. Se vi ricordate Naked Ape è un marchio eco-friendly, che utilizza cotoni organici e realizza lavaggi e trattamenti naturali. Per la prima volta a Pitti Immagine uomo, per la primavera estate 2012, Naked Ape punta molto sul carrot, compreso il modello chino, che viene presentato in molte varianti di colore. In una cornice “naturale”, tra carote fresche, cassette di legno e bidoni di metallo, ecco una piccola selezione di quello che sarà Naked Ape la prossima estate.

Our journey throught the independent stores that count, and keep this country alive and kicking never ends. I have been spoken about Underground an important reality, and finally, throught Facebook, I came in touch with Nicolò, who handles this reality in full expansion. An evolution that is taking him today from streetwear to the street-fashion. Beautiful stores, wit attention to every detail, just look at the pictures, you feel the love for the product and a great care.

Store name? Underground

Why this name? Initially, in ’95, when our business was born, the place was totally underground!

Where is it? Our headquarters is located in Fabriano (AN), the city paper, the others are in Umbria, Gubbio and Gualdo Tadino

Who is (or who they are) the owners of the store? All our customers, (My father) Fabio, (I) Nicolò not to mention (my mother) Lucilla.

Describe yourself in 3 words. Methodical, Researchers, chameleons.

How and why did you come up the ‘crazy idea’ to open / run a fashion shop? My father has thirty years experience in the fashion world. After several years of store management and purchasing for individuals decided to start his own business was born the first store (Underground) … followed by 3 others.  I just manage what he has created!

If you wouldn’t not owned a clothing store what would you do in life? Definitely do the tattoo artist!

Do you have a particular philosophy? By the street … with love …

What brands do you keep? Carhartt, Wesc, Nike sb, Iuter, Naked Ape, Nikita, Obey, Bored, Stussy, Dr. Denim, Monoty and 30 other brands …

What was the most successful brand in last season? Wesc without a doubt.

And that revelation? Obey, a brand which to me is essential … Shepard Fairey is a myth!

Which could instead be the product or brand MUST HAVE for next season? Punto e Basta clothing, the  next F/W collection is truly amazing … Their product is not simple clothing … But a design!

What product, beyond the volume of sales, has given you most satisfaction and pride to offer to sell? Stussy

What brand would like to enter in the near future ….? Surely one of the brands that impressed me the most is ‘Federation’ even if it’s not appear easy to sell.

What are the characteristics of a brand to enter in your list? It must be very good at communication, must be attentive to detail and must be able to distinguish it from other brands.

How has the store evolved since you opened? How do you think will evolve in the coming years? Initially the store was set to m ‘in “Jeans”, and later became a shop Street with the arrival of brands such as Etnies Dc etc … Some say Core.  As a final metamorphosis we are trying to integrate products such as Fashion historians Carhartt…STREET / FASHION. Our shop is evolving day by day …

If one day you’ll open a store outside of Italy where you’d like to go? It would be wonderful to be able to open a store in California or Michigan, but I’d settle even in Copenhagen and Berlin.

Tell us the names and descriptions of two legendary customers of you. Then say hello. Enrico … a great, calling me every so often to give me some tips on some emerging brand and when it enters the store is always a pleasure!  Too bad the only who likes to wear Gucci hat … HORRIBLE! ahahha Hello Richella … And then all of our customers are legendary, each with its own strengths and weaknesses, with their fixations!

CONCEPT - NAKED APE, ovvero il Primate Nudo, dove per Primate si intendono non solo le scimmie ma l’intero genere ominide eretto, di cui l’Uomo è forse l’esponente più
rappresentativo ma certamente il meno integrato con la Natura.
Il Genere Umano dunque messo “a nudo”, ritornato alle origini, antropologicamente,
culturalmente ed ora anche nello stile e nelle scelte. Di vita e di consumo.

NAKED APE nasce e vuole crescere con un approccio integrato con Madre Natura. Dalla scelta dei materiali, solo cotone e lana, niente tessuti di sintesi, per di più accuratamente selezionati dai miglior allevamenti eco-compatibili dei pascoli australiani, passando per la lavorazione e fino alla produzione, sviluppate seguendo i massimi criteri di eco compatibilità e senza sfruttamento umano o animale.
TRACKING INTEGRALE – Colpisce la possibilità che viene data ai consumatori (e ai dettaglianti) di poter ricostruire il percorso di provenienza del capo semplicemente immettendo il codice presente sul capo stesso nell’apposita sezione TRACCIABILITA’ del sito: un programma di geomarketing costantemente aggiornato provvederà a planare in Oceania e a farvi vedere il colore degli occhi dell’allevatore o del contadino che ha procurato lana o cotone.

Un giochino che anticipa quello che in altri settori merceologici sta diventando o è già reso
obbligatorio dalla Comunità Europea, ovvero la possibilità di poter certificare la provenienza del prodotto per asserirne la qualità.

IL BRAND – La maschera antigas del logo rappresenta la conseguenza a cui il Genere Umano sarebbe costretto a causa dei trattamenti chimici e dello sfruttamento (minorile e del suolo) se il processo di industrializzazione finora imperante non venisse ripensato drasticamente.

NAKED APE rappresenta per antitesi un taglio netto e definitivo con questo genere di
industrializzazione, una ventata di aria fresca per vestire in modo glamour i giovani in linea con
questo nuovo sentire.

fine merino 14 e cotone organico/cashmere, blazers destrutturati, jeggings e pantafelpe
sempre in materiali eco, sviluppati in 35 modelli e 14 varianti colore.
